A Tower Over The Sun.
The Sun, just below the horizon and minutes away from rising, reflects off layers of ice crystals eight miles up to form a delicate spire of light, appropriately named a sun pillar - an effect not unlike sunlight reflecting off of the layers of slats in a Venetian blind in Summer.
