Today was my grandfather's funeral, it was much more of a celebration of his life.

He was one of six children and was the sickly one at a young age, so to get him healthy he was sent to Aberchirder to be on the farm with his granny. This got him strong and healthy and he loved the life, so much so that he ran away with the gypsies for 5 weeks before he was found. Anyway being the sickly one he outlived all of them to just short of 98.

The music was fun and was the songs that he used to sing at family gatherings and teach all his grandchildren. In fact the tunes came about roughly the same time as the 'Taxi for Wilson' call at the gatherings. He had a great voice.

It was only afterwards at the hotel, that it became apparent as his beaming voice and fun was not present with all the family.

After the hotel I headed upto to Waverley for sometime in the hills.

Last train to Mallaig up in the glorious sunshine and then the dark, into the B & B to start the adventure.
