Fronds and Family

This fern is one of my favourites, it is matteuccia struthiopteris also known as the Ostrich fern or Shuttlecock fern.
When I first bought it I was warned that it can be "invasive" but I couldn't imagine how anything as beautiful as this fern could ever be a nuisance.

Four or five years later I am beginning to see what they mean... it spreads and new ones pop up a foot or two away from the original plant, and now I have about twelve where once there was just one.
I still won't admit that it is "invasive"... but if anyone would like one for their garden... bring a spade, and I will show you where to dig.
