Love is .....

moving a dead tree trunk and a stone lintel and opening a stuck bathroom window for your wife.

This is a personal blip, not a momentous photo but one for me and for my history. My husband of 33+ years came down from Aberdeen today to talk. We've been together since 1976 but I I haven't seen him since the end of June last year. He's put on weight and his remaining hair is silver. He's adamant, he still wants to live with his 31 year old girlfriend, part-time as she's can't live in the U.K. We sat in the wonderfully warm sun in the communal back green and talked about various things - trivia, why he believed, and has discounted, the lies she told him 3 years ago, our house in France, now sad and empty (we had such high hopes for a new life there but they were killed right at the start by his actions) our 3 wonderful sons and our eldest son's marriage in KL in June, oh and of course moving things on, getting things like finances sorted - we've been apart for nearly 2 years after all. I still miss him, I still don't want to lose him. But I have no control. So it was hard and I shed tears and we hugged, we always do. He left at 3 to get back to Aberdeen before the football crowds - 0 - 4, poor Dons.

Then it was back to ripping out ground elder - good therapy.
