Early Days

A rare music hall poster from the Oldham Palace from 1912. Displayed in the Red Lion pub opposite Ealing Studios. As you can see, Neville was close to bottom of the bill in those days. What you won't be able to see is the tag line of "Coloured Vocalist".

Neville talked fondly of Jack & Willie who are dubbed "The only coloured Equilibrist act in the variety world". They were a balancing act using tightropes and such like.
