Aquamarine/Nanna K's Day

By NannaK

1st day on the water

Yesterday it snowed, not here in the Gulf Islands, but nearby. This morning it was freezing temperature on our thermometer - but the sun was out! So we decided enough is enough, it's April for heaven's sake, - time to put the rowing boat in the water! The dock was dry and in full sun, so off we went for the first row of the year here at the island - got warmed up soon enough. Had the little camera in my pocket and tried to catch the 8 harbor seals sunning themselves on the rocks in the bay, but not in focus, so this is the pix to commemorate this first rowing day of 2011, stopping by our mooring buoy to recoil the line that had fallen in the sea, and document the SHADOWS.
The pyromaniac in me was satisfied by a bonfire in the afternoon, burning more fallen limbs, then a visit for tea from another islander, 1st person we've seen here, and then a fine sauna, and now it's raining. I love the pace here at the island.
