Tribute to a Great man.

This is a lazy blip. None but the brave ( and there have been a few) would have taken a camera outdoors today in the West of Scotland.

I took a picture of my Pregrine Falcon.

Every time I look at it I think of David Stephen

Amazing bird. David Stephen was an amazing man,taking in wild animals to care for them and then release back to the wild.

David Stephen was born in my home town in 1911 and after pursuing many adventures (The Spanish Civil War being one) he eventually became a full time naturalist/Journalist.His books on animals are excellent but his biggest achievement was the setting up of Palacerigg Country Park.

I met him when I was at Primary School and he had a big influence on me regarding my love of natural animal and bird life.

He was a big man in every sense of the word.
