Sunset on the end of the pier?
Kent Estuary, Arnside
The estuary is ever changing. A few weeks ago, these little posts were invisible, buried under a deep bank of mud. Then the channel that was far out from the pier began cutting towards the shore, a cliff of mud was formed and like calving glaciers, huge lumps were constantly slumping and splashing into the eroding channel. In a short while the little wooden stumps were revealed, and the main channel diverted itself back offshore again. These are the last few stumps in a double line that runs parallel to the pier (behind me), and I don't think they've been exposed in the last few years. The stumps are maybe the pilings for an old mooring pier.
Last night I loaded on all the backblips from our holiday. Mollyblobs was spot on in identifying where we had been, La Palma in the Canaries.
I have still two blip gaps to fill from earlier this week. I've been absenting myself in an agony of indecision (again) about what to do about blipping. I'm sorry that I've been neglecting my blip friends, and I am grateful for the welcome backs last night and the 'where are you?' questions before then. The truth is I don't know what to do. When we were away, I was determined to have a blip sabbatical, to give myself time to catch up with other things, but tearing myself away isn't so easy. I do need to find a different point of balance. Further thought is required.
