Is it actually a pear tree?

I've always assumed this climbing tree gave The Pear Tree pub it's name, but I've never known if it was acutally a pear tree? Maybe there's a pear tree elsewhere that is responsible. I am insufficiently educating in matters of an arborial nature to have the faintest idea!
