A tribute...

... to the doily.

It's been a while since I saw so many of these in one place but a visit to a local restaurant this evening showed that they are still very much in vogue.

We all had them under our bread and with our various puddings but the most fascinating placement was under my lamb shepherd's pie. Either they are in fashion or the chef found a spare catering pack in a cupboard.
