Daffodils

It was a fairly dreich and uneventful day today. The highlight was when my school friend Christine came over in the afternoon, she brightened up the day, as did these cheerful flowers she brought.

Christine and I have been friends since 1984, we met in p7 when we visited our high school for the first time. We didn't hit it off straight away but by second year we were firm friends. We drifted apart a little after school as I went to jordanhill and she went to art school in Dundee, we had boyfriends and got married and life got in the way. It wasn't until we were pregnant at the same time with our second child that we met each month at the clinic and re-established our friendship. There followed for both of us the hardest periods of our lives and it made sense that we were there for each other through the darkest of times. Now we have our wonderful husbands and children in our lives and although we can't get together as often as we would like we will always be dear friends who support each other throughout our lives.
