Quite literally a trip down memory lane.

had to take Tom to his Occupational Therapy session and it turns out it was held in my home town of Wallsend.

As we weren't allowed to stay with Tom I ended up taking a walk through the Richardson Dees Park which is your bog standard Victorian park. The huge slide is now long gone, shame.

This leads into Hall Grounds which was always a bit poncey for us kids and then this leads through to Willington Burn.

This was a fantastic place for kids as it was all trees, streams and green areas where you could run riot, build swings and camp out.

The bridge shown here (which is a replacement for the original one) was the perfect place to tie rope too to make a swing. The original bridge was also immortalised in the film Payroll which out Get Carters Get Carter.

Oh happy days.
