Ceramics 1
For a number of years I collected inexpensive ceramic pieces... from Greece, Spain, Italy ... and from a pottery at Balmichael on Arran. The main thing was that they had to be unusual.
Simon Thorborn has always experimented very creatively with finishes, glazes and styles which he has researched, and I love this piece as an example.
It had a tiny chip in the lip so was on sale at a fraction of its original cost. The chip was camouflaged in an instant with chimney soot and since I'll not want to sell it on, it's a true bargain.
For scale, it's 25cm tall and 14cm at its widest.
