Pat's Birthday Film Day
Because Alison and I weren't around for Pat's birthday yesterday, we did a wee celebration today. It was Inge's idea to have a Film Day for Pat. From time to time, we have a day of films in Peter's Bothy-cum-Cinema. We intersperse the films with lovely food and drink. As Pat was celebrating the big Six Zero, she got to choose the films.
Peter, first of all, played a Pathè Newsreel from the year Pat was born - very interesting stuff, and then we watched "Providence" with Dirk Bogarde and John Gielgud. The third offering was "The Heart is a Lonely Hunter" starring Alan Arkin.
I enjoyed both of these films in a strange sort of way, but it would not be an exagerration to say that they were not the most cheery of films...... let's hope that the next few years are a more cheerful prospect for the Birthday Girl.
It was great to eat and drink in the garden - could this be Spring?
