OLD MASTER OF THE SKIES

this is another one of my paintings and as you
may have guessed i love clouds as well as the
aviation aspect. although im at pains to point
out that im not a complete anorak and wouldnt
trap you in a corner of a room at a party and talk
tail numbers to you all night lol.

techno lowdown

this is acrylic on canvas study of the famous 1930`s
record breaking DH88 Comet "Grosvener House", this
name being carried along the nose of the aircraft.
registered as G-ACSS it was one of only five built. being
made mostly of wood with fabric covering. G-ACSS is the
only one to survive.
during its time the comets broke a number of air racing
records that took the aircraft from the UK to as far Austalia.
