in choosing to tell
On the ethics of your decisions to cross those boundaries I have no opinion, I realise; still less curiousity as to why you chose to divulge where you might easily be overheard, even as your trangression left their name and number for all to hear. Nor have I much interest in what your motive might be in telling me.
What concerns me is your duty of care: based on trust that the boundaries of proper conduct will be upheld and that confidentiality will be maintained; that trust, I realise, is what you have broken.
Still, knowing now what it is that bothers me reassures me too.
