River Dee, Aberdeen
Shot taken on the way to our allotment this morning. It is so nice to have the time to stop and take a shot like this: not so long ago, before I retired, I would have felt the need to drive on and would have missed the opportunity.
I am not so sure about the railing in the foreground, but decided on balance to use a shot with it in rather than one without. Certainly these a nicer railings than many newer versions. I wonder when they were put in place? I imagine they are post 1945. My Dad (then a blacksmith) spent the years running up to the Second World War removing wrought iron railings from his hometown of Elgin as materials for munitions making.
