Proper Bacon

To you this may just look like a photo of bacon sizzling in a frying pan, but to me this marks a monumental moment of our time away from home. For the first time since June last year, today we had a proper bacon buttie!

The normal American/Canadian bacon is small, fatty and very crispy. It doesn't work well in rolls. Emma in particular was having terrible withdrawal symptoms.

When we were in New Westminster at the weekend we came across a shop called Sherlock's that sells all things British. Including Ayrshire Bacon (hearing their pronunciation of Ayrshire was beautiful).

Already the Brits at my work are collectively thinking about hiring a car and doing a massive shop at Sherlock's. They even had Irn Bru.
