Grey day....

It was a grey day both literally and figuratively in our community today. A 14 year-old boy was laid to rest following a funeral fit for a king. This young man touched many lives, both young and old.

Today I saw:

A family devestated with grief...
Students of all ages supporting each other and trying to understand the loss of someone so young...
Young teammates bravely acting as honourary pallbearers...
Youth group members finding the strength to sing and play music with heavy hearts...
Coaches heartbroken at the loss of a player who was a joy to coach...
Teachers mourning a student who brightened their classrooms with his humour...
...and a community grieving for everyone affected by this young man.

I didn't know this young man but I did watch him play hockey all winter as a teammate of my nephew.....I wish I'd paid more attention to #19.

Unbearably sad for everyone!
