1740 Gray Cottage

It was such a beautiful day P convinced me a small ride would be good. I was a good patient and stayed inside the car to take this blip. P had to back up-pull forward - nope - back up again before I found the spot I wanted. Thanks P - the fresh air felt wonderful.

The Gray Cottage is the oldest existing building erected by the Moravians in North America.

In November 1740 it was clear that the nearby "stone house" would not be completed for the first winter and the "first house" would not provide enough room so the Moravians constructed this 40' (12 m) x 24' (7.3 m) log cottage.
