Sometime this weekend, we finally dismantled our first ipod. It was a good ipod, never gave me any trouble...until the last week. I swear that Apple was waiting for me to purchase this ipod so they could roll out the new color screens, minutes after I had left the store. Now, a new black 80 gig video ipod resides in my purse...now, if only I could get itunes to find the 17 gigs of stuff I moved to the external hard drive...we'd be all set! But, I digress...

It was amazingly tough to get into and to pull apart all the pieces. Sort of fun to take things apart and not have to worry about where that part came from! Lots of circuits, little connectors, etc. The battery has gone into the battery recycle box, and this little gem was in the very middle of the ipod...mirror smooth and practically unscratchable. It has a very tiny copper wire motor behind it. It's amazing how small things are getting...
