"Swans and their partners... "
In the summer, we have between 15 and 20 swans living in the Bay. This morning I was walking by the edge of the water when they appeared in convoy, sailing along between small waves breaking on the sand and the low sandbank with its own breaking wavelets.
We take these swans for granted as we do the oyster catchers and herons and the seals in their tens sunbathing on rocks further along the coast to the south. It's only when a visitor ... or a camera lens ... pushes you to look afresh that you realise that nothing so beautiful should ever be taken for granted.
