Birds of a feather
In our household, my wife is the official photographer of every meaningful event in our family. She possesses many gigabytes of Christmas merriment, barbecue laughs, and birthday smiles.
I on the other hand, usually take photos of everything else. My photographic interest lies in the slices of daily life or the small details missed by others.
While I will never understand why we need 20 pictures of our son in his new bathrobe, my wife is equally mystified why I waste time taking pictures of tree limbs or odd shadows, or better yet, odd shadows made by tree limbs.
But our images are often complimentary to each other, hers showing the 'who' and the 'what', mine the 'when' and the 'where'. Photography is something we both share and gives us common ground. And it is common ground that brings people together in life, be it in the real world or virtually on blipfoto. As they say, birds of a feather?
