Just a starling?

Sturnus vulgaris

A hot day digging at the allotment (saw Steviefish in the distance, but he had disappeared when we were leaving). Also did one of the most satisfying jobs, today; watering in the nematode worms that are parasitic on slugs...a very effective treatment.
On the way home, I saw the sun glint off this starling, it is always a surprise to be reminded how colourful and splendid they are at this time of year. Later they get scruffy and a bit raddled, feeding their importunate fledglings.
Like the house sparrow I blipped a few days ago, these common birds have taken a bit of a population hit recently, I hope the numbers are picking up again...

I think the embiggenation button is worth it, for this :)
