newt close up

I've been trying for ages to get a decent shot of one of the newts in the pond.

This isn't it but it's the best I've managed so far!

I have to do manual focus on the camera which is very tricky as the screen is obscured by the sun

The newts are enjoying the sun and the relocated waterlily - there were several rowing about in the water over the root - I imagine it's a bit warmer than the rest of the pond which is still pretty chilly
