Richmond

Woke to a slight hangover and an absolutely beautiful day, warm and sunny. The back garden in Harringay was full of excited bees seeking out flowers. We went over to meet L and J for lunch and sat outdoors it was so summery. Then we went down to Richmond with L and went for a walk down by the river in the sunshine before returning to the theatre to see the play. P turned up as arranged; we all thoroughly enjoyed the play (an adaption of Great Expections set in India), and afterwards P drove us back to Farnham.

During our walk we saw lots of amazing old trees around the Old Palace in Richmond and a great variety of waterbirds down on the Thames, but my favourite image was this of a grand riverside house with a cheeky parakeet sitting in the little tree in front of it. There were lots of them swooping about and shrieking - they're a non-native species so I don't know if they're upsetting the local system, but I must say they seem like a cheerful crowd.
