Lazy days

It's the first day of the holidays and it's hot like summer which is odd but one mustn't look a gift horse in the mouth, instead, one must pack up the car and put on Paul Simons 'Graceland'* and find somewhere agreeable by some form of water to lie down in the sun.

I wanted to take pictures of dollies. Jim wanted to collect Dandelions for a jam making project. Mr Nut had a variety of activities he needed to get done, mostly riding on shoulders, spotting planes, pretending to be a plane, chatting to strangers about birthday cake and such.

And I met two delightful girls and I wished I took their picture but I'm too cowardy to take photos of other peoples children. I forget their names but they were names that you only find in the environs of Winchester and plummy places and she might have had a brother called Tarquin. The smaller one was wearing her mums top as she'd fallen in the mud playing in the river. They were sweet anyway and they though Tuesday was a very nice doll. They gave me a large twig they said was a gun and continued on their walk.

*this album marked the very first holiday Jim and I took together- mainly because it was the only album in the car that everyone could tolerate.
