Dinoroar!

We stayed local today and walked around Crystal Palace, which has the world's first ever dinosaur statues. Read more about them here. The sculptures are fantastic and the plants around them are mostly from the dinosaur age, too. The museum at Crystal Palace is very informative with lots of information about the Crystal Palace itself, which burned down in 1936. Only the grand staircases of the sunken gardens remain with a couple of stone sphinxes and a few other sculptures. There are plans afoot to make something more of this area, not rebuilding the Crystal Palace, but doing something clever with plants.

After a walk, a pub lunch then a meander down to home where I tackled the garden in the sun. A lovely, relaxing day.

Happy weekend!
