Baby Owl

With friends at 6:30am for a photo shoot of an owl nest. Dad and Mom were in nearby trees fighting off the harassing crows. This is one of the two babies that are getting some food (by evidence of the leg hanging out of the hollowed-out nest) and growing.

There was a stream nearby and the ducks were as noisy as they could be. I know it is mating season, but we don't need the incessant honk, honk, honking at 6:30 in the morning!

The nest contains downy feathers, animal bits and pieces, and other owl gris-gris that makes a hollowed-out tree a home.
