Surfers

Zihua has experienced two days of heavy swells which has predictably brought out the local surfers. I watched through binoculars for a couple of days from La Ropa before making the trek to Playa Las Gatas for some close-up surfing action. Las Gatas seems like the perfect spot in which to take surfing photos without a huge investment in long lenses or underwater housings. You can almost reach out and touch the surfers as they ride the waves that break around the point. Add backlighting from a setting sun and it is hard to take a bad photograph.
