Narcissus
Thank you everyone for your lovely , positive comments on last night's rose and really chuffed to hit the spotlight although I couldn't see it there when I clicked on the spotlight icon.
Still stuck indoors and missing my meandering up hills etc. John very kindly brought this lovely narcissus in from the garden . So I had a play around with it , first in different vases and with different backgrounds. Then I remembered noticing the reflections on the glass table so more playing around , finally got it and the tripod into the right position to cut out things like the fireplace , edge of table , reflections of paintings on the wall on the table. never ceases to amaze me what the camera picks up which the naked eye doesn't. Natural light from the window and underexposed to cut out the brighter highlights on the petals.
Any way after all that experimenting this is what I came up with, a bit of adjustment of levels&,shadows and in PSP . With so much time on my hands I 'm relly getting to know my camera very well and trying a whole range of settings in manual mode which I never bothered with before so it's an ill wind as they say.
