secret garden

Can you see what it is yet....

Fabulous day - winter woolies have been put away and summer flimsies aired! It's bound to hail and freeze now! I abandoned everything i should have done and headed off to Schull to see Lisa and finalise card stuff ie what are we going to display/present them in? We've ordered some basic and rather unexciting cardboard thingies, and bought a couple of simple baskets. According to Annabel, who has a gallery, people like to rummage and baskets are good. I wandered down to the quay which was quiet but heaving with stuff on the shoreline - huge coils of rope and chains, buoys and masses of stacked lobster pots. I liked the sort of symmetry and patterns of this stack, especially the orange which looks like some strange sea creature.

Then I headed into Skibbereen in pursuit of bedding plants and sandals. I stopped of in Ballydehob and had lunch al fresco. Ballydehob is an attractive brightly painted little town, the original hippy centre of west Cork and still a magnet to all sorts of weird and wonderful people but today it was oddly deserted. Nothing was open and no-one was around but I had a delicious madly healthy walnut and squash salad and watched the odd cat and car go by. Plants achieved, sandals no.

Have a great weekend :)
