Saxton Falls... is NOT a waterfall

large
Can you imagine my disappointment... On the map is Saxton Falls, a small square just outside the edge of Stephens State Park. Next to the Morris Canal... what could be a better place for a scenic waterfall...

The road (a generous term in this case) I took to get there had more matteresses at the side of the road that it did houses.

So I was a little disappointed on arrival.

I actually got some better shots than this one this morning. Cross the railway track to get onto this road I couldnt resist the temptation to stop, roll down the windows and snap a few shots each way. The line of sight was long and the engine was still running so its not at all dangerous, plus I am doubtful if that track gets a as busy as one train a day.

I also got some good shots at the feeders when I returned of a female cardinal and some grackles...

So even though I had some better shots and its not even end of the morning yet I thought I'd post this just for sheer amusement value and as a warning... Dont trust maps... they dont always lie... but it may not be the same truth that you were expecting.
