Hope

Working at home all morning, accompanied by the sound of the carpet cleaning man (unsurprisingly) cleaning the carpets. Just like a hoover, really - only 10 times louder. E-mail the work to the client, just in time. Drive into Edinburgh, take a train over to Glasgow - all for a one hour meeting - then hurry back to get the train back to Edinburgh.

Back at the car park, put my ticket in the machine, reel from shock at the cost of parking for a few measly hours...then spot the little reassuring message at the bottom of the screen.

Ah, if only it were true...
