Out of the shade

In the garden this morning, trying to get some work done before it gets too hot, I saw this lizard on the wall of the shed, looking for a sunny spot where it could bask.

A busy day ahead, first with dozens of pepper plants to re-pot as they're growing very quickly in the warm weather we've had the past few days, and the toponymy conference this evening. I'm not looking forward to it as much as I thought I would as what was a friendly collaboration has been taken over rather by one person. I'm just going to put up my photos quietly, as others have asked me to do, and try not to get cross. There'll be a good meal afterwards, anyway!
