Peaceful
The damson blossom came out in the orchard today. Damson trees are quite remarkable. For the main part of the year they are right crusty old buggers, all gnarly, knobbly and cobwebby, covered in beards of lichen. Then all of a sudden for a couple of weeks in spring they deck themselves in the most amazingly, delicate, frothy white blossom and really look quite the part.
Thinking of friends in Edinburgh today, who are going through the most unthinkable horror any parent can endure. Sam has been with them to say goodbye to their wee boy, just turned one. I don't usually like to share anything too personal on here, but I just want to say please, please, if you are lucky enough to have children, please give them an extra cuddle and kiss before you go to bed tonight. I know I will be.
