Hawthorn shield bug

Otherwise acanthosoma haemorrhoidale, from the order hemiptera. They feed on the fruits and leaves of the hawthorn and other trees and shrubs. This one spent a lot of time sitting on top of my compost bin, so not sure if it was unwell.
