Dedication

6 months 18days

Today was Katie's dedication service. It's been a really special day. We had her godmothers, Auntie Rachael and Auntie Clare staying with us, with their boys, Hayden, Jacob (and Clare's big boy Matt!). Uncle Simon came round yesterday and helped make lots of food.

We got to church nice and early and said hello to everyone. Aunty Wendy was very nervous as she was taking the whole service. Uncle Andy was playing the drums, Carys was singing, and Caitlin was doing a little dance. Lots of people came to the service - Granny, Grandad, Aunty Sandra, Uncle Alan, Uncle Simon, Kay, Chris and boys, Vicki and Stuart, the Meads, the Curtis', lots of church friends. It was the best attended service since they'd started keeping records of these things!

Katie was really good during the actual dedication. She let Paul carry her round the church to introduce her and she even smiled a bit. Kay did some prayers for us. It was a family affair of a service. We went out to creche and she was fine until right before the final hymn, which was the one song I'd really wanted!

After the service, Katie fell asleep. She slept through most of her own party! We had a really lovely bring and share meal, although we'd prepared lots of food so there was loads! She woke up with time to play with Aunty Sandra and Carys and had a lovely time.

We all went outside for some family photos, we hadn't had any in a long time. We got some nice ones of us with our friends too. After the meal, some people came back to our house for cake and a drink and we opened lots of presents - she got money boxes, lots of bible stories, a candle, photo album, lots of things.

It was such a special day, and Katie was a little star for the whole thing.
