Birthday Party

Almost as an antidote to yesterday's strangeness, today took a more conventional path. Being the real birthday of Flick today, it was celebrated in a leisurely fashion - tea and toast in bed, present opening - still in bed. I had got her a couple of books and a camera remote control, for which she was duly grateful, and we just chilled out, reading and stuff - in bed - until 2:45 in the afternoon. Now that is one hell of a way to celebrate a birthday. Once we were up (but not dressed), Scarlett came round for an unannounced chat.

We had a leisurely breakfast at 6:00 in the evening and a birthday cake and a bottle of wine.
All in all a very chilled and adult approach to the task of getting one year older.
