Dr Hutchison's stethoscope
Graham Hutchison is my Mum's consultant nephrologist.
We're here at Manchester Royal Infirmary to sort out the pain in her knees which her GP diagnosed as gout.
After a lot of looking at blood chemistry, vital signs and discussion of symptoms he concluded that it may not be gout, but a rather severe form of Osteoarthristis.
Although this sounds just as bad it is more easily treatable, so that's potentially good news.
