To pad or not to pad

I am split in two on wether to get the iPad 2 or not!
I didn't buy the first one and I am uncertain about this one and the main reason is, will the iPad 3 be out in September!
The background to this photo is my un gadget loving wife does not want me to have one! She thinks 4 laptops, desk PC, two iPhones, 2 iPod touches, two shuffles and my iPod are enough to be playing with in the house!!
What does she know!!
Anyway I sent her this picture telling her I bought one!!
