Anemone blanda

This is another backblip. These flowers are also called the Greek Wind Flower. There are several Greek myths and here is one of them: it is said that Anemos the wind sends these flowers in early spring to herald his coming (so true this year, we have a cold wind blowing!). Another is that the Anemone sprang from the tears of Venus when she was weeping for Adonis.

Rather a traumatic day. Poor dog, our Tess, ran in front of the truck and got hit. The vet has looked her over, nothing broken, just badly bruised, a few cuts, and of course very shocked. She's on painkillers for a few days.
