Bad Weather

Yesterday's forecast of bad weather proved correct. It was horrible, so I only skied a couple of hours late in the afternoon. There were not many people around.

Still, the clouds broke at around 4.30 p.m. and the lack of traffic meant smoothish pistes.

There's been wind and rain and wet snow - really horrible conditions - and the avalanche risk went up to 4. With the additional weight on the snowpack yet more avalanches are inevitable. There has been a huge slide to the left of the Marmottes chairlift, falling slightly onto the piste. It may well have been triggered by the pisteurs.
