Happy Mother's Day

Had a long lie this morning and got up around 11am when H came into my room with a card and present. She had "written" the card herself. My present was a lovely pair of slippers - both functional and fun for H! She is always stealing my slippers, and these are very attractive to her because of the flowers on the front. I have hardly had the chance to wear them today - every time I put them on, she complains and steals them from me.

H and her Daddy went to visit her Granny and took her flowers and a card. We are taking her out for dinner tomorrow night, so the idea was to give me a few hours to myself. I ended up spending it cooking, and more food shopping! I think I spend half of my life in supermarkets. I made a lovely chicken curry and raspberry and honey cheesecake for dessert. I hadn't noted that the recipes for both of these were for 2 people, and I was catering for 4! I visited 3 supermarkets before getting everything I needed. So much for my relaxing afternoon!

My parents came for dinner and everyone enjoyed the meal (I think). H was great fun too and when asked what the card she gave me said, she picked it up and read "to mama" as she pointed to the correct words! I am sure it was a fluke, but it was quite funny.
