Captain's log stardate 2111

We approached the firey planet with caution unsure how our navigation had gone awry. Only after I had Spock check the coordinates for the third time did it dawn on us that this was indeed the earth and we were looking at teh effects of run away global warming.

...but luckily we're saved this time as it's not a vision of the future (I hope) or a strange red planet in a starry sky but a close up of one of the air holes in the garden brazier.

I had a long and busy day gardening today, perfect weather, not too hot or too cold. Pleased to have caught up with some of the long overdue jobs, including at the end of the day a fire of some of last years heaps of clippings which had dried out nicely in the warm weather of late. I don't usually burn much but had spent ages shredding the new prunings and thought it'd be quicker to clear the old dry stuff with a nice fire.

I finished work towards the end of the day got the camera as it looked like the sun might break through the clouds and I'd noticed a nice shot down the road at exactly 7.30 last evening as the low sun caught the cottages on Middle Street. Unfortunately the cloud was too think this evening and sun didn't perform for me. I went to check the fire on to make sure it was safe on my way back and shot a couple of captures of the glowing fire, including this one. I think the star like dots are flakes of ash on the outside of the brazier.
