Two horsepower

An entertaining day, to Gressenhall with girl, as my wife worked a night-shift and needed a quiet house. Not easy with a five year old girl.

In the petrol station on the way we heard a loud bang, a car had tried to get through between my car and the trailer on the other side, and hit the trailer pretty hard. Ashamed to say my first thought was glad it wasn't us he hit. There was no need, there was a big gap, and no empty pump in front.

Gressenhall is an old workhouse, built in 1777, and now a museum. One of our favourites. Union Farm was the workhouse farm, and is now run by the museum.

These are Suffolk Punches (an endangered breed), pulling a seed drill. On our tractor ride, the driver stopped to describe that they were bred for short legs and muscular bodies specifically for working the fields. They apparently have an odd way of walking, almost placing one hoof in front of another, useful for not disturbing furrows. Fine, if slightly scary animals. Girl got to tickle Casper's nose before he started too.

This shot taken with no thanks to the ignorant man in the yellow polo shirt who consistently stood in front of me wherever I moved to. Would've been strong words if I didn't have girl to keep me in check. I wanted to return the favour and stand on his toes.
