Nice Sky
Got away from work a bit early today so thought that would give me possibilities for a blip but I didn't expect quite such a beautiful sky. This colour is as it actually appeared, no post-processing magic here! In fact some of my shots from a few minutes later are even more vivid but I liked the fact that the top part of this one was still quite blue.
Post processing is an area that I do want to learn some more about. I'd been meaning to do some experimentation with taking photos using the raw mode of my camera, so this evening I took all my images in both the raw mode the highest quality jpeg mode I normally use. On looking at the images on the PC the jpeg's colour was much better. From what little I know this is to be expected as the camera applies its own processing in the generation of the compressed file. I don't really have the skills or inclination to spend a long time working on images in software but I'm unsure whether I am missing out on something by sticking to jpegs. Any thoughts?
Thanks very much for the kind comments on my image from a few days ago. It really was the weather that made taking good photos easy those days I can't take much credit!
Have a good weekend.
edit: I've realised that it appears to be appropriate to link to other single photos elsewhere so here is one of the ones where the sky was even more coloured.
