RunningBackwards

Kenn Moor

Part of the North Somerset Levels.

I drive here occasionally on the way to the home of Mrs Running Backwards' sister.
The fields are always full of swans and there is wildlife all over the place.

This afternoon I saw a heron fishing in one of the rhynes and a sparrow-hawk with prey which flew from fence post to fence post with its still live and struggling victim.

Man has tried to tame this part of the country by draining the land but it never looks like it has completely succumbed.

The hedge-less roads follow the course of the rhynes and are the scene of occasional accidents as people miss 90 degree corners after improbably long straight sections.

Mothers' Day today so a quick call to Mrs Untrained Eye out in Menorca and then Sunday lunch with the in laws.

Sunday afternoon tired.

The Wild Boys almost became the blip today. Did I make the right choice? Feedback sought!

Sub Sunday: Light moments - always great shots and interesting write-ups.
