The Edge of the Wold

By gladders

Is it safe to come out?

Bob is at the cattery today, the bank voles are venturing out of the garden wall to pick up seeds falling from the bird feeder above. Last year the network of tunnels through the mortar gaps in the wall was occupied by first one rat, then a whole family with about 7 ratlets. Intelligent and entertaining animals, but none too popular with the neighbours, particularly as they became increasingly bold running along the walls and shinning up the feeder pole. The bank voles are much more welcome.

It's perhaps a sign that Bob's hunting days really are over, he used to be very adept at catching voles and mice, but I've been seeing these little chaps for a while now, and Bob's shown no interest.

This will be my last post for a while. We are going away and I don't have the hardware to be able to blip when on the move. So I shall say Farewell for now. Look out for the backblips, I'm hoping some of them will be quite interesting. And thank you for the comments and favourites for last night's honeybee.
