Cooked friendship cake (and old friends)

This is Herman the friendship cake in his cooked state. He's been bubbling away in my kitchen for over a week now (Herman in his early days). I added cherries and dried fruit and he smelled lovely as he cooked. I made three cakes, two large ones for Easter Egg Bingo tomorrow and one small one (overflow!) for home.

Am about to make a cup of coffee and sample the small cake.

Met up with some work colleagues from over 20 years ago today. Managed to have a pub lunch with no lunch! Some of them have now retired and so didn't need to rush back to work and were very laid back about ordering food. Great to see them all but a bit worried about one of them who doesn't seem to have aged at all in the last 20 years - wonder what's in his attic! We're hoping to meet up again later in the year and husband may get to come along too (we met when we were both working with this crowd).
